Nitrous Oxide (NOx) Sensor Repairs

What happens if my NOx sensor fails?

NOx (nitrous oxide) sensors are fitted in vehicles in order to analyse the emissions. If the NOx sensor fails, it can lead to a number of fault lights coming on in the dashboard – at our workshop in Shiremoor, we have the technology to read the error codes and establish if it is indeed the NOx sensor that has failed.

It’s not particularly difficult to repair a NOx sensor, but it can be expensive. However, there is the option of using a refurbished sensor which will reduce costs and generally they work as well as a new one, although may not have the same lifespan.

These are all points to consider so our advice is to call the team at SMC Garage. We are experienced in repairing and fitting NOx sensors and are here to answer your questions and advise you on how to proceed.

When your vehicle is with SMC Garage, we want you to have peace of mind that it’s in safe hands. That’s why we work closely with and are affiliated with the Good Garage Scheme, Approved Garages and the Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency. We’re proud to meet, and often surpass, the standards set by these organisations and leave you safe in the knowledge that your vehicle is in the hands of the experts.
